verse for the week

"When I said 'My foot is slipping', Your love, oh Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought joy to my soul" Psalm 94:18-19

How true - I really don't know how I got through this week otherwise. It's been one big pile of pants after another. Not literally, of course, that would be weird. But I've just gone from one problem to another. I solve one, then someone comes up to me with something else and it's like a never-ending saga. But I am through it!

Let the Tetley (Hall) Spirit...

...be with you tonight.
Ah what a lovely lunch I have spent, jawing with Anita about our days at Tetley, who we are still in touch with, how Gordon could not remember Tom Shattock, but remembered that he "hated him" he he he, and all that jazz. We dined at The Heights hotel restaurant and looked out of the window from the 15th floor over what is left of Victorian London (the City is all glass and steel frames, beautiful but so new). The West End, with its bizzare grid-system, interrupted by random circles of greenery or white marbled buildings, is a new territory for me to explore.
It was so nice sitting there that Anita and I wanted to stay the whole afternoon. Sadly we are students no longer and can't spend all day wittering endlessly or gazing at the view and back to work we went. How lovely and nostalgic though, in the centre of London, during a busy day, to spend an hour or so rooting up treasures from our past.

Thank you!

To everyone who posted a comment on the state of my hands, who offered sympathy or helpful suggestions, even to people who told me to shave the cat...

my hands are now almost back to normal and should be completely healed within a week.

And I'm keeping my kitten!

Worst day of my life. Need TLC

Today is the worst day of my life. Well, one of them.
I am allergic to my cat. My kitten. I have allergic contact dermatitis. Or, Hand Hives. These have been caused because of an allergic reaction to touching my kitten.
Given that I have had cats since I was FOUR (Smokey, Tigger, Frodo) - not to mention my dad's cats through the years (Fabian, Phoebe, Pickles, Patches, Pebbles and Munchkin) - I am really pissed off to discover that I am now allergic to cats.

This means my hands will swell up in huge rashes and blisters from time to time. And my heels also. These will itch and cause my hands to swell by 25 per cent. Because they are painful, I can hardly touch anything with the palms of my hands.

Hence I found it difficult to manipulate the toilet roll to the necessary places and ended up standing up too quickly and peeing on my jeans. At work. Not only are my hands scabby (enjoy the pictures of my hands while you are eating), but I am also incontinent. I am an embarrassment to society and should be locked up in a cave forever to protect the world from me.

How could this?

or this?

be caused by such a darling sweetie as this?

Blogger is so much better than Myspace

Myspace is so difficult to use if you don't know html. Johng was right when he said HTML was the spoor of the devil, or similar words to that effect.
but now I know how, thanks to a swinger/deathmetal freak in Japan (!) how to use a personal picture as a background for myspace. This is the picture I want to use. Sweet, eh?

Barclay Brothers win over Times man

Just got sent this from an anonymous tipster... Can this be Mark Atherton, Times journalist and, as the tipster rightly pointed out, a Murdoch Man? Shhhurley shome mishtake?

Is the world coming to an end?
